TOUR DÉCOLONIALE

Saturday 24/06 - 14h00 until 17h00 (guided tour in English)
location: Drie Gapers, Ostend

Collectif Mémoire Coloniale et Lutte contre les Discriminations - a collective that has been fighting for a decolonial society for over 10 years - created a new decolonial tour of Ostend. During this walk you’ll be invited to see Ostend in a different way, interweaving the past with the present and raising pressing questions about our common future. This eye-opening tour will be led by Aliou Balde, who has been studying the subject for over a decade.

BIO The CMCLD (Collectif Mémoire Coloniale et Lutte contre les Discriminations) is a decolonial movement in permanent struggle to build a decolonial society that:

(1) builds a reconciled memory based on an objective history in which all its citizens can recognise themselves
(2) faces its colonial memory and engages itself permanently in it
(3) rids itself of racism and negrophobia
